The Magpies pulled ahead 10 minutes into the second half after a goalless first half when Saint-Maximin found Joelinton down the left.

Wilson was in the center of the box when the Brazilian looped the ball into his path.

White, on the other hand, was the first to reach the ball and squeezed it past Ramsdale into his own net, giving the home team a 1-0 lead.

Wilson then had two chances to make it 2-0 but failed to capitalize before his team scored again in the 85th minute.

Burn gave the ball to Wilson, but Ramsdale beat him to it. Unfortunately for the goalkeeper, the ball was intercepted by Guimaraes, who managed to score to increase his team’s lead.

They came close to having a third late in the game, but Ramsdale was able to redirect Gayle’s low effort and Newcastle sealed the 2-0 win at the end of the final whistle.

With a win, Arsenal would have put themselves in a good position for a Champions League place, but they are now two points behind their fierce rivals Tottenham in fourth place.

The Gunners will play Everton on the final day, but a win will be insufficient if Spurs gain at least a point against Norwich City.

Meanwhile, the home team has moved up to 12th place and will travel to Burnley for their final game of the season, hoping to finish strongly.
