Southampton and Manchester City were forced to share the spoils of a 1-1 draw at St. Mary’s after a thrilling 90 minutes of football.
The Saints scored first with a beautiful outside-the-boot finish from Walker-Peters, giving them a lead that they would hold for just under an hour.

On 67 minutes, Forster’s clean sheet was destroyed by a headed effort from Laporte due to De Bruyne’s inch-perfect delivery, and City dictated play and time of possession, launching wave after wave of pressure forward.
Guardiola’s team was not satisfied with a point and kept pressing for the winner, but the Southampton defense’s tenacity saved them from a late defeat.
