Bayern Munich advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 7-1 victory over Salzburg on Tuesday night, thanks to a hat-trick from Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern had complete possession of the encounter and were already 4-0 up at the halftime break, thanks to a superb finish from Lewandowski.
After both sides missed numerous scoring opportunities in the first three minutes, the former Borussia Dortmund star got two penalties, giving the home side the edge after being taken down twice by Wober.
With a straightforward tap-in from a perfect pass from Muller, the attacker made it three, while Gnabry halted his little goal drought with a goal off Coman’s assist.

Muller was good enough to grab a brace in the second half courtesy of two assists from Sane, and the winger also put his name on the goal sheet by slamming home Lewandowski’s pass.
Salzburg, on the other hand, never gave up and scored a lucky goal through Kjaergaard, but only the home side will forever remember the evening.
Bayern Munich put on a magnificent performance in front of their home fans after a poor showing in the first leg.

However, they will now focus on the Champions League quarter-finals for the time being, while Salzburg will strive to learn from their mistakes after a great Champions League campaign.
