It appears John Terry may have some idea over the choice of the new head coach Chelsea will bring in to succeed Thomas Tuchel after the German coach departed Stamford Bridge.
Thomas Tuchel has officially left his post as Chelsea manager, the Premier League club confirmed on Wednesday morning following their Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.
The club statement released on Wednesday morning reads:
“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.
“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.
“Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.
“There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.”
But then, it seems as though John Terry anticipated Tuchel’s exit as the former Chelsea captain has been yawning for a new coach.
He was so sure that the firing would occur, but when he expressed his affection for Brighton’s head coach on social media, many fans believed he was merely praising his countryman.
“How good is Graham Potter? I love how Brighton play and he has to be one of the best young managers around. Ticks every box for me.”
