On Thursday night at the José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon, Portugal, Portugal crushed the Super Eagles of Nigeria 4-0 in an international friendly match.
The host country scored two goals in each half of the international friendly encounter with Nigeria, which served as the final warm-up game for the Portuguese team traveling to Qatar for the 2022 tournament
Nigeria have no business participating in the world football championship, which begins in Qatar, as evidenced by their 4-0 defeat by Portugal.

With Ronaldo missing from the game, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes scored twice (9′, 35′ PEN), while Gonçalo Ramos and Joo Mária grabbed two late goals to seal the win.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria should have had a consolation goal but Nottingham Forest summer signing – Emmanuel Dennis missed from the spot kick to make sure the Eagles were properly defeated.
There is no denying that the Super Eagles displayed an excessive amount of respect for their opponents throughout the entire game as Portugal is now entering the World Cup with a victory.

Although the Portuguese gave up six corners to the Super Eagles (three in each half of the match), it is still unclear how the team managed to give up only two goals in the first half.
The Super Eagles must learn how to close mark their opponents and quicken the pace of their game in order to change their style of play going forward.
The team’s goalkeeping unit also has to be carefully reorganized.
