Gambia have advanced to the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Guinea 1-0 in Bafoussam on Monday.

Barrow’s goal was all that was required to keep the West African side dream alive at the African of nations 2021.

With captain Musa Barrow’s second-half goal, Tom Saintfiet’s team has secured yet another spectacular result.

Barrow scored in the 71st minute to separate both sides in a tough contest.

Following red cards to Yusupha Njie and Ibrahima Conte, Gambia and Guinea finished the match with ten men each.

At the other end, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have also progressed to the Afcon quarter-finals after a Monday night showdown vs Comoros.

The hosts made it to the last 8 of the African competition despite a late threat from the Islanders.

Cameroon captain, Vincent Aboubakar led the Indomitable Lions to a 2-1 victory over the Amir Abdou side in the Africa Cup of Nations knockout stage at Paul Biya Stadium in Yaounde.
