Gabriel Jesus grabbed his fourth league goal of the season as Arsenal secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Brentford during their Premier League game on Sunday afternoon.
After a strong opening 45 minutes, the Mikel Arteta team immediately took the lead through Saliba’s corner kick header just 17 minutes into the match.
Saliba used his head to guide the ball into the bottom right corner thanks to a swinging delivery from Saka after the visitors earned a corner on their right.
The defender, despite facing away from the goal, skillfully steered it there. Raya attempted to yank the ball away, but it had already gotten too far.
With a strong header, Jesus made the score 2-0 11 minutes later. The Brazilian escaped his opponent and gave the header everything he had to nod Xhaka’s accurate left-footed lob into the top left corner.
Although Xhaka’s pass was perfect and the Arsenal captain made it easy for his striker to smash it, Jesus scored with a resounding effort.
With just four minutes into the second half, the Gunners found themselves 3-0 up after Fábio Vieira scored in his first Premier League start of the campaign.
After controlling Saka’s pass inside the box, the Portuguese midfielder looked up and fired a left-footed effort via the post into the bottom right corner.
The Gunners impressive start to the new campaign is still going strong as they get ready to face Liverpool and Tottenham next.
With this result, Mikel Arteta and his men now leads City and Tottenham by one point at the top of the Premier League standings.
They have scored in each of their seven league games this season, and they now appear to be title contenders. Despite losing, Brentford is still tenth.
