Philippe Coutinho, a former Liverpool star player, is expected to join Aston Villa on loan from Barcelona.
It’s a done deal, according to Barcelona on their official website, and the agreement was reached after direct communication on Friday morning.
Coutinho will be on loan until the end of the season, with Aston Villa covering the majority of his wages, with the possibility of a permanent deal.
In January 2018, the 29-year-old joined the Spanish giants. Later that day, he made his Copa del Rey debut against local rivals Espanyol.
As a blaugrana, he made 106 appearances, scoring 26 goals and amassing a 65-win, 24-draw, and 15-loss record.
The midfielder also spent the 2019/20 season on loan with Bayern Munich and will now reunite with Steven Gerrard, his one time team mate and now villa manager.
