Everton came from behind to defeat Arsenal 2-1 at Goodison Park on Monday night, scoring two late goals in the second half.
Richarlison and Demarai Gray goals cancelled out Martin Odegaard’s first half goal to give Rafa Benitez’s team all three points.
The first-half excitement set the tone for the second, which was filled with drama.
Richarlison finally grabbed his rightful goal after another Everton goal was disallowed.
Demarai Gray struck the woodwork for the equalizer, and right at the death, the Everton winger did it again, slamming a thunderbolt off the post and into the net.
Gray was active throughout the game, and his numbers of three shots, two of which were on target, one vital pass, and four crosses indicate that he was always going to be a factor in the game’s outcome.
It’s Everton’s first win in eight games, and it takes some of the burden off Rafa Benitez’s shoulders.
Everton now sits in 12th place in the Premier League table, with an eight-point buffer between themselves and the bottom three.
Arsenal will remain seventh despite missing out on a chance to move up to fifth place. Mikel Arteta’s team has now lost two games in a row and three games in a row.
