Despite Watford’s crushing defeat at the hands of Manchester City, Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis added another assist to his record.

The 24-year-old played a key role in Watford’s Premier League defeat at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, assisting the Hornets’ lone goal.

Watford, who were fighting for relegation, were defeated 5-1 by Pep Guardiola’s team.

The hosts dominated possession from start to end as they grabbed the lead four minutes in through Jesus, who scored a close-range goal.

After a few moments, Jesus headed in De Bruyne’s cross to double Manchester City’s lead.

Watford made a comeback attempt when Emmanuel Dennis set up Hassane Kamara for a precise strike to make the score 2-1.

Rodrigo, on the other hand, destroyed their hopes with a magnificent 25-yard strike.

Following a penalty in the second half, Jesus completed his hat trick before adding his fourth with a brilliant goal after a selfless assist from De Bruyne.

Watford subsequently retreated deeper into their defensive box in order to prevent a more embarrassing loss, and City came out on top convincingly.

Manchester City stretched their Premier League lead to four points with the win, with Liverpool remaining to play and Watford in 19th place.

Emmanuel Dennis now has six assists for Watford this season in all competitions.
