Australia defeated Denmark 0-1 in a World Cup Group D encounter at the Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah, Qatar.

With six points each, France and Australia advanced to the knockout round, but Tunisia was eliminated from the competition after earning four points from a 1-0 victory over the defending World Champions, France.

Denmark finished the competition with just one in group stage. In the qualifying rounds, they scored 30 goals and won nine games, but they lost all their games in Qatar, managed just one goal, and finished last in Group D.

Riley McGree assisted Mathew Lockie’s goal for Australia in the 60th minute of the second half of the game, whereas Wahbi Khazri, Tunisia experienced captain scored for the Cathage Eagles in the 58th minute of the second half of the game at Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.

Following a VAR review, match official Matt Conger disallowed France’s Antoine Griezman’s 90th-minute equalizer.

Since Guus Hiddink in 2006, Graham Arnold is the only Australian manager to get to the round of 16.
