Levi Colwill’s uncle – Barry Mason has denied rumors on social media that the Chelsea Academy star player has asked for a starting position in the first team squad.

The 19-year-old was on tour with the Blues in America, but due to an injury, he was unable to take part in the team’s opening win over Club America.

Even though he trains with the first squad, rumors claim the club is trying to completely restructure their defense in order to complement the acquisition of Kalidou Koulibaly.

Presnel Kimpembe and Jules Kounde have been recently linked with a move to the West London side, thereby obstructing Colwill’s path to the starting lineup.

This generated rumors that the talented youngster was eager to quit the team since he had plenty of Premier League admirers who could give him playing time.

Mason, though, asserted that any allegations that his Nephew was pressing for a starting position for the team were completely untrue.

Some fake news not once has Levi demanded to start or be in the starting 11.” – Barry Mason said.

Given the club’s well-documented history of underestimating the caliber of players at their disposal, Chelsea supporters will be hoping that any crisis of sort should be addressed immediately.

Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi have both already established their caliber at AC Milan and Crystal Palace, respectively, demonstrating the club’s difficulty to retain talented players in the center of defense.

Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly have experience that is unmatched at the highest level, giving Colwill the chance to learn from some of the best players in the world.

A prospective loan to any Premier League side may also be very advantageous for Chelsea, as they would be able to evaluate his performance there with almost likely more playing time than he would receive in West London.
