After scoring his first international goal for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a friendly match against Mexico on Sunday morning, Cyriel Dessers has expressed his joy.
Cyriel Dessers says he’s proud of the powerful headed equalizer he produced after the Eagles went down a goal due to defensive errors in the first half.
During the international friendly at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, the forward continued his impressive form by scoring the Super Eagles’ first and only goal of the game.
In a close match, the Super Eagles were beaten 2-1 with Santiago Gimenez placing Mexico ahead just 12 minutes into the game.
However, Mexico managed to secure victory at the end of the final whistle after William Troost-Ekong scored an own goal in the 56th minute, just two minutes after Cyriel Dessers had tied the game for the Eagles.
The 27-year-old took to his twitter page to say;
“Mexico v Nigeria, couldn’t be more proud to score my 1st international goal.”
