Chelsea defeated Tottenham 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening, ending a Premier League winless streak of four games.
Hakim Ziyech scored a stunning goal for the home side early in the second half, and Thiago Silva added a second with a looping header from Mason Mount’s free-kick.
Spurs will be enraged after Harry Kane’s goal was controversially called off for a foul on Thiago Silva in the first half.
However, Antonio Conte’s side were poor in the second half, and his perfect league record was ended by his previous club.
The top flight will take a vacation next week, giving both sides a break in their schedules. Chelsea will play Plymouth Argyle in the fourth round of the FA Cup at home on February 5th.
On the same day, Tottenham will battle Brighton and Hove Albion at home.
