Following a disappointing season at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has accepted to rejoin Inter on loan this summer.
As part of the loan deal, the Blues have agreed to cover a percentage of the forward’s income, while Lukaku has agreed to a slight wage cut at Stamford Bridge.
Following the negotiation of personal terms, just the terms between the two clubs remain, and Football411 has learned that Inter and Chelsea are ‘close’ to accomplishing so.
In these terms, a future price, a buyout clause, and a possible further season on loan after the 2022/23 campaign are all possibilities.

This looks to be the situation right now, with a Premier League club offering to pay a part of his salary in exchange for his transfer.
Chelsea paid £97.5 million to re-sign the forward last summer, but he has been a major disappointment for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Lukaku struggled to equal his season with Inter, where he scored 24 league goals, with a season with Chelsea, where he only scored eight.
Romelu Lukaku’s time in Serie A for Inter by numbers:
72 appearances
452 touches in opp. box
105 chances created
95 shots on target
47 goals
13 assists
24.1% conversion rate
A return will be really beneficial to him.
Tuchel also suggested to Inter earlier this month that enabling Lukaku to return to the club would be perfect for all concerned parties, and all that is about to be resolved now.
