The former Arsenal striker has finally returned to the Premier League and to London.

As part of Aubameyang’s transfer package, a defender from Spain’s national team has also returned to his home country. The Catalans had been interested in the wing-back all summer.

Aubameyang reportedly cost Chelsea £10 million ($12 million) from Barcelona, while Marcos Alonso will move to Camp Nou as part of the agreement.

Alonso was already in the Catalan capital to undergo a medical before signing a three-year contract that was reached back in April when Aubameyang arrived London on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Alonso’s entrance was made possible in large part by the space that Aubameyang’s sale created around Barcelona’s pay costs. Additionally, it made it possible for Hector Bellerin to join.

Aubameyang made the decision to sign a two-year deal at Stamford Bridge with a one-year extension option.

The Gabon international is expected to spark the Chelsea club after a difficult start to their 2022–23 campaign. Aubameyang and Thomas Tuchel have been familiar with each other since their Borussia Dortmund days.

The Blues only have seven points from their first five games this season after Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to Southampton. They really need the new signing to inspire them in some way.
