Cameroon began their quest for a sixth Africa Cup of Nations championship with a 2-1 victory over Burkina Faso at Yaounde’s Stade Omnisport Paul Biya.
With the help of the inspiring Vincent Aboubakar, the hosts battled back from behind to win the tournament opener.
The Stallions seized the lead in the 24th minute through a Gustavo Sangare goal, despite playing the Group A match at home in front of a loud crowd.
In the 40th and 45th minutes, though, the Indomitable Lions struck back with two penalties converted by Vincent Aboubakar.
