Zoran Milinkovic was full of admiration for Nigeria Professional Football League Champions – Rivers United as he admitted the Pride of Rivers deserved the 5-0 victory.

The Stanley Eguma side secured an emphatic 5-0 victory over the Libyan team – Al Nasr in the first leg of the Confederation Cup playoffs at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

During a post-match conference, Al Nasr coach claimed everything was against them in the game, adding that his team’s performance was poor and will now be a difficult task to overturn the scoreline.

Our performance today was very bad and Rivers United was the better team. Overturning this result in the second leg is very difficult but we have to play the game and do much better.” – he said.

Coach Libyan side coach added that;

The referee awarded two penalties but it looks like everything is against us today, nothing worked for us today.”

Recall that a brace from Ebube Duru and strikes from Kazie Enyinnaya, Paul Acquah, and Malachi Ohawume gave Rivers United a resounding 5-0 lead ahead of the reverse fixture next week.

After a disappointing CAF Champions League outings, which saw Rivers United demoted to the Confederations Cup, the Port Harcourt outfit is now just a win away booking their spot and will hopefully make that happen on Wednesday, November 9.
