Scott Parker, the head coach of Bournemouth, has just been fired; becoming the first manager in the Premier League to leave after just four games in charge.
Bournemouth has fired manager Scott Parker just days after the Cherries’ record-equaling Premier League defeat to Liverpool.
Parker has taken Bournemouth back to the Premier League after a successful start to their new campaign. But Liverpool, however humiliated them with a 9-0 scoreline, making it their third straight defeat in the league.
Gary O’Neil has now been chosen to serve as the temporary head coach, with Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper serving as his assistants.
The owner of Bournemouth, Maxim Demin, revealed this in a statement in which he commended Scott and his comrades for their efforts while they were employed by the team.
“Our promotion back to the Premier League last season under his tenure will always be remembered as one of the most successful seasons in our history. However, in order for us to keep progressing as a team and a club as a whole, it is unconditional that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably.” – he said.
Maxim Demin further noted that;
“We must also show belief in and respect for one another. That is the approach that has brought this club so much success in recent history, and one that we will not veer from now. Our search for a new head coach will begin immediately.”
AFC Bournemouth can announce that the club has parted company with head coach Scott Parker.
