Ahmed Musa on Tuesday joined an exclusive club of Super Eagles stars who have won a century of caps for Nigeria after he featured in a 2-1 win against Cape Verde.
The winger, who plays for Turkish Süper Lig club – Fatih Karagümrük, became the fourth Nigerian player to achieve the feat for both the men’s and women’s National Team after Maureen Mmadu, Joseph Yobo and Vincent Enyeama.
The 28-years-old is currently behind Vincent Enyeama (101) and Joseph Yobo (101). He has scored 15 goals in 99 appearances for Nigeria.
While the likes of Nwankwo Kanu, Jay-Jay Okocha and John Obi Mikel had just 87, 73, and 91 caps respectively and were unable to reach the milestone.
Since making his debut as a 17 years old in 2010, he has participated in 2 World Cups for Nigeria (2014, 2018).
The Former Kano Pillars forward grabbed his first goal for the National Team in a friendly match against Kenya in March 2011.
The winger was also a member of AFCON winning squad in 2013 and has the most World Cup goals for Super Eagles (4).
Musa is also the first Nigerian to score 2 goals in two consecutive World Cups.
