The transfer of Nigerian winger – Ademola Lookman from German Bundesliga team, RB Leipzig, to Italian Serie A club Atalanta has officially been announced.
Atalanta declined to disclose the contract’s length or fee, although rumors suggest that the Nigerian player committed to a four-year deal with the Serie A team for a sum close to €15 million.
The Super Eagles star man, who was on loan at Leicester City and had a remarkable spell there, will now pursue his professional career in Serie A.
At the King Power Stadium last season, the 24-year-old winger made 42 appearances. He only managed to score eight goals and added eight assists to his name in all competitions.
The attacker switched from Everton to Leipzig in 2019, however his lack of regular playing time for the Bundesliga team resulted in his moves to Fulham and Leicester City.
Ademola Lookman, the latest Atalanta addition, played 24 competitive games with the Red Bulls, scoring five goals and setting up four more before joining Brendan Rodgers’ side on loan.
According to Ademola Lookman on his twitter page;
“Happy to be in my new home Atalanta BC”
