Aaron Ramsey joins French Ligue 1 side Nice on free transfer

Former Arsenal player – Aaron Ramsey, who severed connections with Juventus, has decided to begin a new chapter in France with Nice.

The Wales international left Juventus when his contract was terminated and will now feature for Nice in Ligue 1 for the new campaign.

After an injury-plagued stint in Italy, Juventus acknowledged last week that they had parted ways with the Wales star, but his move to France gives him regular playing time before his nation’s World Cup campaign in the winter.

Less than a week after deciding to break his contract with the Bianconeri, the 31-year-old joins as a free agent; Nice has not yet made public the terms of his agreement.

Ramsey played for the Bianconeri in 70 games in all competitions, scoring six goals, but only five of those games occurred in the 2021/22 campaign.

His spell under Massimiliano Allegri was plagued by injuries, and he was later loaned out to Rangers, where he won the Scottish Cup and participated in the Europa League final.

He joins a Nice team that is striving to build on its fifth-place result in Ligue 1 last season, which allowed it to go to the Europa Conference League play-off round.
